Using your suggestions from last year, and adding some new sure-to-be-favorites, a new list of 20 books has been chosen. The library has many copies of these books; look for a display in the Children’s Department. We hope that as the year goes on, you will offer us your suggestions for next year’s list. We want you to have the opportunity to share books you love with other kids!
Each school has its own bead jar in the Children’s Department. For each book on the list that you read, you can add a bead to your school’s jar. At the end of the program, the school with the most books read (per student enrollment) will receive a trophy, and the participating students will be invited to a party at the Ela Library!
A different color bead will represent each book title. If you want to see which book lots of other kids have read – or which school is winning – you can stop by the library and check the tubes.
During the month of February, all participants will have the chance to vote for their favorite book. The current book list may be found here.
